Neoclassical Pavilion

It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve returned to my apartment in France more than a month ago and it’s only now that I finally got internet. I guess Internet providers have their own idea of what’s an acceptable waiting time.

This photo is form the Parc (Jardin) del Laberint d’Horta in the north of Barcelona in the district of Horta-Guinardó. The name of the park gives it away that this particular pavilion isn’t the major attraction, but I still find it to be interesting. Apparently the whole area belonged to one family.

Street Lamp

Sometimes it’s in the details and it’s the small things in a big city that get your attention. This is just an average street lamp in Barcelona. It, among many other things, makes me think of how the city was a century ago. This particular one is from one of the parks at the very north of the city. You can see St. George’s cross on the coat of arms of the city, something I didn’t know just a few months ago.

It’s not often you see people playing cricket in Europe. It got my attention as I was walking through the Parc de la Ciutadella in Barcelona; the atmosphere seemed serious but at the same time very fun. I wish I knew the proper rules.

Park in Berlin

I like spending time in parks in various cities throughout the world. This one in Berlin was particularly pleasant, though I can’t remember its the name no matter how hard I try..

Let’s Dance

This was taken in the same park as was the picture in the previous post.

Old Man in a Park

People in China are very active. A walk across many parks will present people of all ages doing all sorts of different physical exercises in form of games or dances. It’s a very pleasant, lively environment. And of course here and there you see people resting, regenerating before the next dance.
